Food Safety Clinic
In 2023 BioNat launched a Food Safety Clinic
in partnership with American Corners to
Provide food safety workshops and set guidelines
to help entrepreneurs to engage with food
safety experts.
Food entrepreneurs, facilitators, and representatives
from incubation programmes attended the
workshops. Participation in the Food Safety
Workshops have provided entrepreneurs with clarity
on the necessary steps to take to implement food
safety and protect their customers. And help
incubation programmes to equip their
beneficiaries with the correct resources.
The purpose of the workshops was to educate
educate entrepreneurs about the importance of
food safety, to facilitate the sharing of analytical
knowledge and transfer of innovative ways to
minimize cross-contamination and cross-
contamination related to food hazards and
encourage discussion on how to improve food
Safety control systems to safeguard consumers
and facilitate networks. Through the diverse
conversation, the workshops explored how
SMEs could align with South African
standards and regulations.
